There’s one episode of Video Village, which Jack hosted in 1960, floating around on YT somewhere.

I remember Jack as the announcer on Bob Stewart’s game Eye Guess on NBC. Jack had some great banter with host Bill Cullen.

One game Bob hosted isn’t here. It was The Family Game, which had a brief run on ABC in 1968. The show was produced by Chuck Barris.

This is such a cool idea! I want this back, complete with the sliding doors. Screens just wouldn't have the same effect.

He also hosted a show on CFTO in the early seventies (c. 1972) called "Eye Bet". They would show an old movie clip and then ask some innocuous question about the clip (e.g. "Which person was holding a wine glass?"). My mom worked on Definition for the first three years of its run, so I got to meet Jim Perry several times.

I also thought Tom Kennedy was a decent replacement for Allen Ludden when Allen Ludden retired from hosting the show due to the cancer that ultimately claimed his life. Tom Kennedy also appeared as a panelist on Password Plus in February of 1979, while Allen was still hosting Password Plus.

Three future presidents. In April 1994, they would be together with George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton for Richard Nixon's funeral. This was the first time in US history that that many presidents and their wives were together. I was extremely fortunate to be invited to attend.

If you noted a rather subdued tone about Mayor Norma Walker's appearance, it's because that was the first show after Dorothy Kilgallen's sudden death in 1965.

One further potential political guest should be mentioned in this juncture. I don't know if the story is true or apocryphal, but when "What's My Line?" was in Chicago during the Democratic Convention the week after Mayor Daley's appearance, the producers wanted to get former President Harry Truman to appear as Mystery Guest. However, the sponsor of the show that week - Remington Rand - vetoed the idea, because one of the board members of the company was General Douglas MacArthur. (Draw your own conclusions from that.)

"Match Game" made Gene Rayburn famous.

I remember Alex Trebek hosted "Jeopardy!".

I read about him, I found it kind of sad that after he retired he survived on $300 a year -stock dividends. . .

He passed away on November 4th, 1955. 5 months after this show.

I'm surprised Narz was working again in 1960 after hosting the fixed/rigged Dotto program. Jack Barry didn't get to return until much later after that.
